KSP Investigating Fatal Collision in Henderson County


HENDERSON, Ky. (April 12, 2026) – Kentucky State Police Post 16 in Henderson is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on Green Street and Borax Drive in Henderson.

Henderson Police Department notified KSP just after 2 p.m. Sunday to investigate and reconstruct a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred around 1:56 p.m. Sunday.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 1996 Kenworth tractor operated by Lester J. Jones, 55, of Sturgis, was traveling eastbound on Green Street. A grey Ford Bronco operated by James J. Jobe, 66, of Corydon, and passenger Jason P. Jobe, 21, of Corydon, entered the intersection from U.S. 41-A / Borax Drive when Jones struck the driver’s side of Jobe’s vehicle.

James Jobe was pronounced dead on-scene and passenger Jason Jobe was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He is listed in stable condition. Jones was not injured in the collision.

It is still early in the investigation and reconstructionists have not yet determined fault in the collision, according to the police.

The investigation and reconstruction is ongoing by Trooper Josh Turner. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Henderson City Police, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson City Fire Department, Henderson County Emergency Medical Services and Henderson County Coroner’s Office.
