The City of Henderson has appointed an acting fire chief.
Nick Mangarella was appointed the acting fire chief, effective Monday. He is a 12-year veteran of the Henderson Fire Department.
Mangarella will work alongside retiring Fire Chief Scott Forman until Foreman’s last day on Friday. Foreman announced his retirement earlier this month after 28 years of service with Henderson Fire Department.
Mangarella begin his fire service career in New Jersey in 1998. Since joining the Henderson Fire Department in 2011, he has risen through the ranks as firefighter, engineer, lieutenant, and most recently as assistant fire chief.
He currently resides in Henderson with his family. Mangerella will serve in the role of acting fire chief until the city hires a fire chief.
