Non-profits urged to apply for funds to address top county health concerns
HENDERSON, KY – Deaconess Henderson Hospital Advisory Board is pleased to announce its first
grant cycle for nonprofit organizations located in Henderson County. Twenty-five thousand dollars will
be awarded through the Deaconess Henderson Hospital (DHH) Community Program Fund.
The DHH Community Program Fund is a result of the merger of Methodist Hospital and Deaconess
Health System. At the time of the merger, funds were approved to be used each year to promote the
health and well-being of the citizens of Henderson County.
Grant proposals will be accepted from all interested non-profit organizations serving Henderson County,
Kentucky. For this inaugural year, the grant application window will run from April 15 to May 30;
winners will be announced in June.
Grant monies will go to those organizations addressing the four areas identified in the current Henderson
County Community Health Needs Assessment. These areas include mental health, substance abuse,
obesity/diabetes, and health equity/access.
Grants should also focus on improving the quality of life for Henderson County families. Other health
related community programs such as those promoting wellness, providing access to health screenings, and
preventing illness will also be considered.
