A two-vehicle accident that occurred mid-morning Wednesday on the twin bridges tied up traffic for a while.
Henderson County Sheriff Chip Stauffer said a Dodge Challenger rear ended a service van on the southbound bridge at about 10:10 a.m. Wednesday.
The driver and the passenger of the Dodge Challenger fled the scene on foot, going north on the southbound side of the bridge. The driver of the van was not injured.
Traffic was reportedly backed up on the southbound lanes past Waterworks Road at one point.
This is a developing story.
