Henderson County High Senior Parade alters route to school campus

Henderson County High School’s senior parade route has been altered.

Henderson County Schools decided to change the route after speaking with law enforcement. Authorities are searching for escaped inmate Bradley Gillespie, who was last seen early Wednesday morning on the north end of Henderson after ditching a stolen vehicle on Camarro Drive following a pursuit by police.

The HCHS parade route was originally slated to take place downtown near where police are actively searching for Gillespie.

For the safety of everyone, the school system decided to change the parade route.

The parade will now occur through the high school’s campus at 6 p.m. And the senior sunset will occur at 7 p.m. tonight at the football stadium.

The school system encourages everyone, especially graduating seniors, to attend at the new location. Spectators may walk up to fill the parade but park at the stadium.

Cars can start lining up at 5 p.m. through Gate 1. Parade route details will be shared on the school system’s website and on social media.

The parade begins entering HCHS.
