The Henderson County School district sent a letter to parents about how school bus rides won’t be available to some students.
The letter addressed that the school district will be unable to provided school bus rides to some students in the HEnderson County School District due to shortage of bus drivers available.
The letter talks about how students affected by this change include those living in a certain area, which are referred to as a “walker” area.
The Walker area is according to the district letter is Sand Lane to Washington Street, and Alvasia Street to Atkinson Street. Students that are living in the Walker Area will either need to walk to school or be dropped off.
Henderson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Lawson says in the letter “Please know that this decision was not made lightly and i want to assure you that we are working tirelessly to find a solution to this issue.” We are actively searching for individuals who are willing to join our team as school bus drivers.
