Henderson Fire Department knocked out a fire at a Wathen Lane home on Friday morning.
Assistant Chief Aaron Thompson said that firefighters were dispatched at approximately 6:57 a.m. Friday to the scene of a working structure fire in the 7000 block of Wathen Lane.
Engine 3 arrived first and were able to stop the fire in the patio and cooking area, which appeared to be the fire’s area of origin.
The home is located a considerable distance from the roadway, so multiple trucks had to lay nearly 2,000′ of supply hose.
Thompson said it took three to four hours to completely knock out the fire and complete overhaul – which is checking for fire extension into hidden areas and ensuring that the fire is fully extinguished.
Wathen Lane was temporarily closed as firefighters picked the fire hose back up.
