The Henderson Lions Club One-Night Live Auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at Rookies Sports Bar and Restaurant in downtown Henderson.
Tickets are $75 each. Organizers say that people who buy tickets and attend are in for a fun night of live auction featuring a wide variety of items and the knowledge they are helping the Lions to make Henderson a better place to live and work.
Just a few of the items that will be auctioned off this year: one night stay at Legends Hotel and dinner for two at Cavanaugh’s Restaurant, one night cabin rental at the Farmer and Frenchman, one night stay and a round of golf for two at French Lick, Henderson Brewer’s Experience by Henderson Brewing Company, Tennessee Titans tickets, a Blackstone Griddle, a grandfather clock, a spring lawn and garden package, a $1500 landscaping package and lots and lots of bourbon.
The $75 ticket includes a meal, drink ticket and access to bidding at the live auction. Tickets are available by emailing the Lions Club at hendersoncitylions@gmail.com, contacting the club at the Henderson Lions Facebook page or from contacting Lions Club members directly.
The club raised nearly $40,000 in last years’ live auction. Money was used for grants to local nonprofit organizations, scholarships for local high school seniors as well as eye care needs and sight conservation programs, including vision screenings for 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th graders in Henderson County Schools.
The clubs’ most recent fundraising event was the Lions Arts and Crafts Festival at Audubon State Park the first weekend in October. The club raised about $25,000 dollars during that event to help support its community programs.
