Nellie Jo (Nell) Mullen (formerly Adams, Carpenter) born February 19, 1940, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Austin, TX.
Nell was born in Henderson, KY. She attended the University of Evansville and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Regina Nursing Home as an Activities Director and Angel River prior to her retirement. Nell had a smile and laugh that would light up the room and will be remembered fondly for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nell was preceded in death by her husband Albert Mullen; her son David Patterson; and her parents Joseph and Ruby Adams.
Survivors include her four children: Stacy Carpenter (Addai Williams) of Austin, TX, James Mullen, Steve Mullen, and Janet Campbell all of Henderson, KY; her two sisters Ann Fuquay and Rita Baughman both of Evansville, IN; four grandchildren: Alisha Carpenter of Irvine, CA, Amari Williams of Austin, TX, Andrew Mullen and Isaac Mullen both of Henderson, KY; as well as a nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Nell’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Benton-Glunt and Tapp Funeral Home, 629 S. Green Street, Henderson, KY, 42420. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.
