The Teacher Store’s grand opening will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 12th at Central Academy in Henderson.
The Teacher Store was developed by the 2023 Henderson Leadership Initiative Education Group to assist teachers with obtaining supplies, at no cost to them, through a point system. Supplies for special projects, classroom essentials, and even classroom decorations will be available.
The Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation invites everyone to join the grand opening. The event will feature door prizes, care packs for new teachers, and
opportunities to explore and shop our product offerings.
Attendees will also have the chance to meet our staff and learn more about the unique services that the Teacher Store has to offer such as volunteer opportunities and how to support the store.
“When the HKEF Board was approached by the HLI Education Group with an idea to collaborate on a Teacher Store, we knew immediately that their vision aligned perfectly with the HKEF mission and vision,” said Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation Director Patty Sellers. “HKEF currently provides Engagement Grants for teachers, manages the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Henderson County, and our vision is to establish a flourishing Henderson community where every person has equal educational opportunities to reach their potential. Adding the Teacher Store to our programming was a logical step, but this is only possible with help from our community partners in addition to Henderson County Schools who has provided a space for the store.”
The Teacher Store is located at The Central Academy at 851 Center Street and must be accessed at Entrance B3, which is the westside door facing Alvasia Street.
