HPD investigating robbery, car fire incidents


Henderson Police Department is investigating a pair of fireworks-related incidents.

Police were notified that at approximately 11:30 p.m. Thursday that the fireworks stand on Fifth and Green streets was robbed.

Officers were advised that an unknown black man wearing a black hoodie, showed a gun and took the entire cash register with him. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

At approximately midnight Friday, police said someone threw something into a vehicle on South Ingram Street, causing the vehicle to catch fire.

A witness told police when the first pop sounded, that he looked outside the window and saw multiple sparks which he believed were fireworks.

The vehicle owner stated they left their windows open. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility to be investigated.
