Carolyn Sue Heppler

 

Carolyn Sue Heppler, age 86, of Sturgis, KY, passed away at 9:07 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Walnut Creek Assisted Living in Evansville, IN.

 

Sue grew up in Reed, KY and was a graduate of Spottsville High School. She was a homemaker and worked at Holt’s Department Store in Sturgis, KY. Sue was a member of Sturgis United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. When she moved to Henderson, KY she joined Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Sue enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting, cooking, and canning vegetables. She also worked with St. Anthony’s Hospice for several years and was a previous member of the Sturgis Homemaker’s Club.

 

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Carol Mattingly, her husband William “Bill” Heppler, and her sister Nancy Phillips.

 

Sue is survived by her sons William “Tim” Heppler and his wife Mary Kay, and Jerry Heppler and his wife Bobbie Sue, both of Sturgis, KY; sister Bonita Hatfield of Marion, KY; 4 grandchildren: Emily Dominguez, Matthew Heppler, Nathan Heppler, and Jerrad Heppler; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

There will be no services at this time. Inurnment will be at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S. Green St., Henderson, KY, 42420.
