In the midst of all the recent traffic alerts, some good news out of Henderson.
The Clay Street Bridge in Henderson has been closed since May due to the deterioration of the metal support structure.
Now, weather permitting, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials tell us that the bridge will reopen on Friday, July 19.
Engineers began redesigning the project to address factors that might impact bidding.
Once repairs area completed, the bridge will reopen to traffic until the bridge replacement project begins.
According to a release, a timeline for that project will be determined once a contractor is in place.
