The Henderson Area Arts Alliance has named Kensington Eck its new executive director.
Eck, who was previously named the interim director, has more than 20 years of experience working in the performing arts.
She said she is excited to bring her knowledge and enthusiasm to the Henderson community.
“I am thrilled to lead the Henderson Area Arts Alliance in its 30th year and look forward to collaborating with a community that has such a clear love and support for the arts,” said Eck.
As executive director, Eck will oversee the planning and implementation of HAAA’s programs, events, and initiatives, ensuring that HAAA remains a leading force in promoting the arts in Henderson and the surrounding areas. Her vision includes expanding community outreach, fostering partnerships with local organizations, and enhancing the accessibility of the arts for all residents.
“Kensington’s passion for the arts and electric personality are unmatched,” said HAAA Board President Walker Bruner. “We are fortunate to have her as our new executive director and are very excited about the future of the Henderson Area Arts Alliance.”
Before this position, Eck worked as the interim director and patron services manager of HAAA. She has a vast amount of experience working in the arts as a teacher, vocal and acting coach, actor, singer, director, artistic director, and producer.
Eck performed professionally with the New Harmony Theatre in Indiana and at the Secret Theatre in New York. Her favorite roles include Cecily in “The Importance of Being Earnest” and Abigail in “The Crucible.” She has also performed in countless community theatre roles with her own theatre company.
She loves every opportunity to be on stage, whether it’s via performing or talking about the arts community. Her favorite role of all time is mom to her daughter, Starling.
