The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Central Hardin Bruins at home last night at Colonel Stadium.
The Colonels would come away with a dominating, 52-21, win over the Bruins.
Colonel senior quarterback Trajdon Davis was 7 for 14 with 186 yards and 3 touchdown passes on the night. Senior quarterback Trajdon Davis rushed 16 times with 81 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns while senior running back Tony Burrus rushed 8 times for 54 yards and 1 rushing touchdowns on the night. Senior wide receiver Lacon McKinney had 2 receptions for 97 yards and 1 touchdown reception while sophomore tight end Jacob Nunn had 2 receptions for 46 yards. Senior wide receiver Maxton Meadows had 2 receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown reception while junior tight end JR Reusch had 1 reception for 3 yards that was a touchdown reception on the night. Senior kicker Carson Weiss hit a 39 yard field goal and sophomore running back Jack Dalton had a punt return for a 45 yard touchdown return on the night.
The Colonels as a team, had 185 yards rushing and 186 yards passing for a total of 371 yards of offense on the night. The Colonel’s defense allowed the Bruins to have 177 yards rushing and 80 passing yards for a total of 257 yards of total offense on the night, as the Colonels forced 2 fumbles and recovered 1, forced 7 punts, and allowed the Bruins 9 first downs. The Colonels had 2 penalties for 10 yards while the Bruins had 6 penalties for 54 yards on the night.
The (2-1) Colonels will take on the (3-0) Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado on the road next Friday night, September 13th, with the kickoff set for 7:00 P.M.
