Two arrested during burglary in progress at Henderson home

A man and woman found hiding in an attic were arrested during a burglary in progress Wednesday morning.

Henderson Police Department patrol officers made two arrests after being dispatched to the 300 block of Turner Avenue for a burglary in progress.

The 911 call was placed at 7:17 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim over the phone.

The victim said he was alerted to the burglary by security cameras in the home. The victim arrived at the scene and let the officers in so they could search for the suspects.

They did not locate the suspects in the main area of the home, but requested a ladder from the Henderson Fire Department so they could access the attic. When they got into the attic, they found Timothy Oliver, 52, and Amanda Yates, 46. Both were taken into custody without incident.

Burglary tools were found in a backpack near the suspects. The victim told officers that neither suspect had permission to be in the home.

During the investigation, detectives established probable cause the suspects entered to home to steal items for the purpose of selling them.

Oliver and Yates were both arrested and booked into the Henderson County Detention

Center. They were both charged with second-degree burglary.
