The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Christian County Colonels on the road last night, in which Henderson took down Christian, 49-18.
The Colonels defense had 4 interceptions with one of those being a 25 yard pick six by Brody Belt. The other 3 guys with an interception on the night was Avant Baxter, Jake Nunn and Tony Burrus. Wyatt Newman had a 67 yard scoop and score for the Colonels.
Colonel sophomore quarterback Brody Belt was 8 for 11 with 103 yards, 3 touchdown passes, and 2 interceptions thrown on the night. Senior running back Tony Burrus rushed 11 times for 109 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns on the night. Senior wide receiver Maxton Meadows had 3 receptions for 26 yards while senior wide receiver Colton Thompson had 2 receptions for 39 yards and 2 touchdown receptions. Sophomore tight end Christian Haygan had 1 reception for 17 yards that was a touchdown reception on the night.
The Colonels as a team, had 115 yards rushing and 103 yards passing for a total of 218 yards of offense on the night. The Colonel’s defense allowed Christian to have 61 yards rushing and 268 passing yards for a total of 329 yards of total offense on the night, as the Colonels forced 1 fumble and allowed Christian to get 18 first downs. The Colonels had 9 penalties for 102 yards while Christian had 5 penalties for 55 yards on the night.
The Colonels (4-5) will be at home for Senior Night to take on the Owensboro Red Devils (6-3) next Friday night, November 1st, with the kickoff set for 7:00 P.M.
