Henderson, KY. – The Henderson City-County Airport has named a new manager – Emily Herron.
“Emily’s passion for aviation goes beyond her professional experiences,” said longtime Airport Director Allen Bennett. ” She is a 3-generation private pilot and understands all facets of aviation. She speaks the language and lives it. Her connections in this industry and ability to network at local, state, and national levels will be invaluable to Henderson’s economic development. She understands that a strong, thriving airport is attractive to existing and new business prospects and can work alongside other Henderson leaders to promote the airport and its facilities.”
As a private pilot with over 5 years of airport management experience, Herron brings a wealth of expertise to her new leadership role. As the airport manager, Herron will oversee day-to-day operations at the airport and continue to maintain solid partnerships with the current Fixed Base Operator, Don Davis Aviation, as well as community leaders and organizations.

Herron received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Kentucky and serves on the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission. She is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). She is a co-Chair for the Kentuckians for Better Transportation’s Aviation Committee, a member of the Kentucky Aviation Association, and Women in Aviation International among other affiliations across the local, state and national levels. Throughout her career, she has organized multiple air shows, educational programs with an emphasis on aviation, and fly-ins to promote aviation to communities in this region.
Apart from her professional life, Herron and her husband, Seth have a son, Will and enjoy cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, spending time outdoors, and flying their family airplane, a Piper J-3 Cub, which has been in her family for over 75 years.
The Henderson City – County Airport is a modern general aviation facility that has been serving the region for over 70 years, providing facilities and services to meet the aviation needs of regional industry and business.
