DENNIS E. “DENNY” BRANSON
Dennis E. “Denny” Branson, 73, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife at his side on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
He was born on July 3, 1951, to the late Richard E. Branson and Lois Ellen Brownlee Given. Denny was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was owner and operator of Branson Surveys, Inc. Denny was also County Surveyor and worked closely on many projects with the Henderson City and County Governments. Denny was the first Henderson resident to own an electric vehicle. His hobbies included master woodworking, Henderson history, and camping and outdoors. Denny even created in his backyard his own “Branson Park” which had shelters, a creek, and a brick walkway.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Marjorie “Marty” Branson; three children, Jason Scott Branson of Henderson, Kentucky, Robert Earl Branson and his wife, Desiree, of Evansville, Indiana, and Elizabeth “Beth” Holsky and her husband, J.D., of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Diana Dale Smith of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Denny’s uncle, the Reverend Hal Branson, will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
