The Colonels came away with a win against the Oldham County Colonels, 53-47, at home in the Faupel Automotive/Chevrolet GMC Ford Colonel Basketball Classic last night.
The leading scorers for Oldham County was Henry Marcum with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Jeromey Harmon had 11 points. Will Hinkle had 10 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds while Ty Bryant had 9 points. To round out the scoring, Timothy Rankin tallied 2 points and 7 rebounds on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels was Cooper Davenport with 16 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds while Elijah Suggs scored 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Dwaine Moss had 11 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds while Lacon McKinney had 7 points and 7 rebounds. Xavion Johnson had 4 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals while Trajdon Davis had 2 points and 5 rebounds on the night.
Oldham County shot 7 for 21 (33%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 2 for 18 (11%). Oldham County shot 4 for 4 (100%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 9 for 12 (75%). Oldham County had a total of 34 rebounds while the Colonels had 38 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 10 assists, 11 steals, and 7 blocks. Oldham County committed 15 turnovers to the Colonels committing 11 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels improve to (6-3) on the season while Oldham County falls to (2-7).
