The Henderson-Henderson County Human Rights Commission has canceled this weekend’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration event due to weather conditions.
The event was scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson.
“We want to express our gratitude to everyone who was committed to participating in the event,” said Human Rights Commission Executive Director Rev. Charles Johnson.”
However, WSON 860 AM/96.5 FM Radio has already set aside the time for the celebration, so there will still be a broadcast of a special program during that hour. Weather permitting, Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry will deliver her speech live from the WSON Studio at 3 p.m.
