The Colonels suffered their 5th loss of the season and 1st loss in the 2nd Region against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons, 45-42, on the road last night.
The leading scorers for the Maroons was Trashaun Smith with 14 points and 3 rebounds while Ryan Bryant had 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Landen Smith had 10 points and 7 rebounds while Davin Cheirs had 3 points. Peyton Smith tallied 3 points while Orion Underwood added 3 points. To round out the scoring, Kanyon Johnson scored 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels was Elijah Suggs with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks while Lacon McKinney scored 9 points and recorded 3 rebounds. Cooper Davenport had 9 points while Dwaine Moss had 5 points. To round out the scoring, Xavion Johnson added 4 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds on the night.
The Maroons shot 3 for 10 (30%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 2 for 5 (40%). The Maroons shot 12 for 19 (63%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 6 for 12 (50%). The Maroons had a total of 26 rebounds while the Colonels had 20 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 9 assists, 8 steals, and 7 blocks. The Maroons committed 12 turnovers to the Colonels committing 9 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels fall to (14-5) on the season while the Maroons improve to (12-8).
