UPDATE: All emergency work has been completed and Wathen Lane has reopened to the public.
HENDERSON, KY, February 26, 2025– The City of Henderson announced the temporary closure of Wathen Lane starting at Wolf Hills Boulevard and extending approximately a quarter mile due to the formation of a sinkhole. The closure is effective immediately, and the area will be restricted to all traffic.
The necessary repairs will begin on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, and are expected to be completed within two days, with the road set to reopen on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. City officials are working swiftly to address the situation and ensure public safety during the repair process.
In the event that an extended closure is required to complete the necessary work, the City will provide updated information and timelines through official channels.
Motorists are advised to follow detour routes and exercise caution in the area. City officials said they thank the community for their understanding and cooperation during this time.
