HENDERSON, KY, February 26, 2025– In order to facilitate ongoing construction at the high-pressure pump station on Water Street, contractors will resume work starting February 26, 2025. As a result, the Riverwalk in front of the building will be closed for approximately one month to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
To maintain a safe environment for both workers and the public, Water Street will be closed to traffic between 5th Street (north side) and 6th Street (south side) for approximately one month, as well. This closure is necessary to allow contractors to properly stage their work. Additionally, pedestrians are directed to stay on the east side of Water Street between 5th and 6th Streets.
For public safety, appropriate signage will be in place to guide walkers and to prevent them from entering hazardous areas around the construction site.
The City urges all pedestrians to follow posted directions and remain vigilant as they pass through the area. They apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciate the cooperation of the public.
