League of Women Voters holding Light for Our Democracy Events Tuesday

The League of Women Voters of Kentucky is gravely concerned over Executive Orders and actions which run counter to the system of checks and balances enshrined in the US Constitution, as well as attacks on the rights of citizens, and the institutions which serve our country, according to a news release. The nonpartisan nonprofit said it is also concerned that Congress has abdicated its duties under Article 1 of the Constitution.

On Tuesday, March 4, in anticipation of the President’s Address to Congress, chapters of the LWV in Kentucky will act as a Light For Our Democracy by hosting gatherings around the state. These events will offer peaceful and unified spaces to come together for the health of our democracy, the future of our nation, and the well-being of all its people.
