The Henderson County Lady Colonels came away with a, 77-40, win against the Lyon County Lady Lyons in the opening round of the 2nd Region Tournament at Christian County High School in Hopkinsville last night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Lyons was Piper Cotham with 14 points and 4 rebounds while Trinity Taylor had 9 points and 8 rebounds. Jenna Coursey tallied 9 points and 3 rebounds while Courtney Collins added 4 points and 5 rebounds. To round out the scoring, Lilly Perry contributed 4 points and 3 assists on the night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Colonels was Allyson Rideout with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals while Anna Kemp had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Brooklyn Gibson had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists while Rashia Cansler had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Addy Gish had 7 points, 5 steals, and 3 assists while A’Tylia Green tallied 6 points and 3 assists. Azayah Hall scored 6 points while Callie Burnett contributed 4 points. To round out the scoring, JaNyla Locher had 3 points on the night.
The Lady Lyons shot 11 for 16 (69%) from the free throw line to the Lady Colonels who were 4 for 9 (44%). The Lady Lyons shot 1 for 15 (7%) from behind the three point line to the Lady Colonels who were 5 for 15 (33%). The Lady Lyons had a total of 26 rebounds while the Lady Colonels had 29 total rebounds in the game. The Lady Colonels recorded 22 assists and 21 steals. The Lady Lyons committed 25 turnovers to the Lady Colonels who committed 8 turnovers on the night.
The Lady Colonels improve to (25-5) on the season while the Lady Lyons end their season with a (21-10) record.
