MADISONVILLE, Ky. (March 6, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to conduct a routine inspection of the KY 56 bridge over the Green River next week.
Starting Thursday, March 13 at 9 a.m. the bridge, located at the McLean-Webster County line outside of Sebree, will be reduced to one lane to allow inspectors space to work. Crews will use catwalks, drones and a specialized under bridge inspection vehicle conduct a throughout examination of the bridge and its substructure.
Traffic will be controlled by flaggers at each end of the bridge.
Work is expected to be concluded by 2 p.m.
The KY 56 bridge over the Green River was built in 1969 and carries an average of 1,839 vehicles per day.
