The Henderson County Lady Colonels came away with a, 60-37, win against the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm in the semifinals of the 2nd Region Tournament at Christian County High School in Hopkinsville last night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Storm was Calajia Mason with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals while Tyah White had 8 points and 6 rebounds. Kenzleigh Harrison tallied 6 points and 4 rebounds while Addie Menser added 6 points. Braylee Marsh contributed 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals while Bri Dulin added 2 points on the night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Colonels was Brooklyn Gibson with 21 points and 4 rebounds while Allyson Rideout had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists. A’Tylia Green had 9 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals while JaNyla Locher had 7 points and 4 rebounds. Rashia Cansler had 5 points and 6 rebounds while Addy Gish tallied 2 points. Jersey Gardner scored 2 points while Callie Burnett contributed 2 points on the night.
The Lady Colonels had 3 players that were named to All 2nd Region Team for the regular season as pictured above left to right: Allyson Rideout, A’Tylia Green, and Brooklyn Gibson.
The Lady Storm shot 7 for 14 (50%) from the free throw line to the Lady Colonels who were 9 for 13 (69%). The Lady Storm shot 2 for 6 (33%) from behind the three point line to the Lady Colonels who were 9 for 26 (35%). The Lady Storm had a total of 32 rebounds while the Lady Colonels had 50 total rebounds in the game. The Lady Colonels recorded 16 assists, 3 blocks, and 12 steals. The Lady Storm committed 19 turnovers to the Lady Colonels who committed 15 turnovers on the night.
The Lady Colonels improve to (26-5) on the season while the Lady Storm end their season with a (20-14) record.
The Lady Colonels will face off against the Crittenden County Lady Rockets tonight in the 2nd Region Tournament Championship Game at Christian County High School in Hopkinsville with the tip off set for 6 P.M.
