Pascal Ray Benson
Pascal Ray Benson, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Pascal was a longtime member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Henderson City High School and graduated from the University of Kentucky. He held a Masters Rank I and II from Murray State University and was one of the original inductees of the Henderson County Hall of Fame. He owned Pascal Benson Driving School and taught several students how to drive. He loved dancing with his wife Elaine, especially group and ballroom dancing. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Pascal was an all-around athlete and held several titles.
Pascal was preceded in death by his father Pascal Benson, mother Rosie Parks, stepfather Thomas Parks, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Pascal is survived by his wife of 62 years Elaine Benson of Henderson, KY; daughter Jodie Donahue (Eddie) of Harrodsburg, KY; sons Tracy Benson (Dusti) of Robards, KY and Edward Benson (Jennifer) of Henderson, KY; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pascal’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson, KY with Father Richard Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY.

John William Pierce
John William Pierce, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away Sunday evening, April 6, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
John was a Methodist Hospital and Ellis Park racetrack counselor for several years. He was a quiet man but left a great impression on many people through his life of service, kindness, and guidance. He was a huge U of E basketball fan and held season tickets. John’s love for his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed his pets, Cooper and Paul, who were a source of joy in his life.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorean Pierce, and his wife, Judith Pierce.
John is survived by his daughter Lisa Garrett (Jim) of Henderson, KY; son David Pierce of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren: Sara Monroe (DeMarco), Hannah Williams (Curtis), Olivia Pierce, Matthew Pierce, and Jamie Needs; and five great-grandchildren: Elaine Monroe, Eleanor Monroe, Ellison Monroe, Garrett Williams, and Judith Hagan.
Relatives and friends are invited to join us in celebrating John’s Life from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the service time on Thursday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service, a celebration of John’s life, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the funeral home, with Mark Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
