Evansville Man Arrested on Weapon Charge


A convicted felon is facing a weapon possession charge after being served a warrant at a local hotel.

Henderson Police arrested Deon Vaughn, 29, of Evansville, on June 19th at a local hotel on a warrant for terroristic threatening. While serving the warrant, officers saw a handgun within reach of Vaughn, according to a news release.

Vaughn was taken into custody without incident. During a check of his criminal history, officers learned Vaughn has a felony conviction in Indiana and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Vaughn was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Terroristic Threatening (Complaint Warrant)

 Presumption of Innocence Notice: The fact that a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
