Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-Staff on Friday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 26, 2025) – Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, June 27, in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died in an aviation accident.

U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Dustin Kelly Wright, 40, of Woodlawn, Tennessee, died as a result of wounds from an AH-64 Apache helicopter training accident at Fort Campbell on Wednesday, June 11. Wright was assigned to Company C, 1st Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Wright will be interred at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville on Friday.
