Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Wreck in McLean


CALHOUN, Ky.  A Marion man was killed after the semi-truck he was driving overturned on Kentucky 56 on Tuesday evening.

Kentucky State Police Post 16 – Henderson said it received a call from McLean County Dispatch around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday about a one-vehicle collision in the 13000 block of Kentucky 56 near Beech Grove.

A preliminary investigation revealed that 59-year-old Brad Jones of Marion was traveling eastbound on Kentucky 56 in a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer. The investigation determined that Jones exited off the right shoulder of the road where he lost control, crossing both lanes and overturning on the driver’s side blocking Kentucky 56.

Jones was taken by ambulance to Baptist Heath in Madisonville where he was pronounced dead.

Kentucky 56 was shut down for four hours as troopers investigated the collision.

The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police, McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Beech Grove and Calhoun Fire Departments and McLean County EMS assisted troopers at the scene.
