Henderson County Water District has issued a boil water advisory for all of St. Olaf subdivision.

Superintendent Mark Julian said that a fiber contractor hit the district’s water main again, causing a main break. Officials have shut off water to the St. Olaf subdivision and crews were onsite making necessary repairs Thursday.

The customers affected are from 4300 to 4398 St. Olaf Circle.

Julian said the district estimates that water will be shut off for approximately four hours from 10 a.m. Thursday. He said the district will make every effort to limit the water service disruption to as little time as necessary.

While no contamination has occurred, as a precaution, when water service is restored, customers will be under a boil water advisory until further notice.

These customers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption at a rolling boil for 3-5 min. Samples will be collected as soon as possible.

The boil water advisory will be in effect for as long as necessary dependent upon satisfactory bacteriological results. Please flush cold water taps for a few minutes to flush any air or discolored water.

If you have any questions, please contact HCWD at 270-826-9802 during business hours of 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours emergency only number is 270-860-9731.

Julian said the district appreciates customers’ patience while they diligently work to restore service to the affected customers.
