Patricia D. McCormick McKinney, 79, of Henderson, KY, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

Pat was born in her family’s homeplace in Webster County, KY on August 1st, 1946 to Forrest Lee and Luzella Reese Fulcher McCormick. Pat was a lifelong educator working in the Henderson County Schools from 1971 until her retirement in 2005. Pat had a Rank 1 and several certifications including high school English, Health, and Physical Ed and Elementary Ed. Pat was a Kentucky Colonel, and a friend of the library. Pat was married to the love of her life, Everett Tom McKinney on June 2nd, 1967 at the Henderson General Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member, and has been attending the Lawndale Baptist Church for several years.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sonia Glore, a brother Bobbie Lee McCormick, two half sisters Helen Hallum and Wanda Seagraff, and a half brother Junior Hunter. Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years Everett Tom McKinney, a brother in-law Jerry McKinney and his wife, a sister in-law Connie McCormick and nieces and nephews.

Private burial was held at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY at Pat’s request. A life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday August 16th, 2025 at Lawndale Baptist Church 841 Dr. MLK Jr. Ave Henderson, KY 42420, with visitation starting at 2pm until service time at 3pm with Bro. Gary Shoulders officiating.

Thank you to St. Anthony’s Hospice, Redbanks, all the DR’s and Nurses that cared for her, and especially the prayers for Tom. Thank you to Chad Townsend and Townsend Funeral Home for taking care of the arrangements.
