Virgil L. Mitchell
Virgil L. Mitchell, age 98, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Virgil was a proud United States Navy Veteran who served in WWII. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #9 for many years. Virgil was a member of Henderson’s First Baptist Church since moving to Henderson and the early 1960’s. He worked at Big Rivers Electrical as a superintendent of the transmission department for approximately 3 decades before retiring at age 70. Virgil loved traveling throughout his life and was able to visit Hawaii, Alaska, and the Promised Land to name a few. He was often found in his yard raking and collecting pine needles and cones to share with his family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed boating on the Ohio River and trout line fishing with his daughters. Virgil loved all sports, but especially UK basketball and HCHS Colonels football. His family meant everything to him. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Sadie Mitchell, his wife Minnie Mitchell, grandson Tommy Todd, III, brothers Edward Mitchell (JoEllen) and Ernest Ray Mitchell, his sister Jeanette Plunk, and son-in-law Jim Pendergraft.
Virgil is survived by his daughters Phyllis Mitchell and Rebecca Mitchell both of Henderson, KY; sister-in-law Carolyn Mitchell of Tennessee; brother Fred Mitchell (Peggy) of Tennessee; grandchildren Krystal Rhodes and Mitchell Corpe; great-grandchildren Sydney Book and Brady Rhodes; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Virgil’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Hinkston officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.

Stephanie Pippin
Stephanie Pippin, age 58, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Stephanie was an avid UK fan and a big animal lover. She always had multiple pets. She was the memory keeper of her family and loved crafting beautiful scrapbooks. Stephanie was a wonderful and resourceful cook and could make something delicious out of nothing. She was a wonderful wife and mother; her family was her whole life.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her father Billy Miller, Sr. and her grandparents Ishmal and Frances Miller.
Stephanie is survived by her husband of 31 years Tim Pippin of Henderson, KY; daughter Shannon Martin (Larry) of Corydon, KY; sons Eric Sutton (Tabitha) Reed, KY and Michael Sutton (Charity) of Henderson, KY; mother Beverly Miller of Robards, KY; sisters Pam Mitchell (Terry) of Henderson, KY, Janice Wilson (Kent) of Robards, KY, and Cathy Stone (Kevin) of Henderson, KY; brother Billy Miller, Jr. (Gina) of Cairo, KY; 10 grandchildren: Claire Sutton, Izabella Sutton, Jaxon Sutton, Xander Sutton, Austin Martin, Skyler Duncan, Easton Martin, Ryker Martin, Alissa Mayes, and Jason-Michael Sutton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.

Pearlee Abrams
Pearlee Abrams, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her daughter’s home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Pearlee worked at Gamco Products for 28 years. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Zion Baptist Church, where she received the Good Shepherds award. Pearlee read her Bible and her devotional every night. She was on the Evangelism Committee at Methodist Hospital and was in a group called “Sunshine Girls” distributing stuffed animals to the elderly and pediatric patients. Pearlee enjoyed walking and working word searches.
Pearlee was preceded in death by her parents Pollard and Luna Ritchie, husband Robert Abrams, and her siblings: William Ritchie, J.B. Ritchie, Cleve Ritchie, Jake Ritchie, Zak Ritchie, Isom Ritchie, Canzalia Dobson, and Juanita Stepro.
Pearlee is survived by her daughters Kathy Hill (Bernie) and Brenda Womack (Ed); sons: Bruce Todd (Cindy), David Todd (Barbara), and Kenneth Todd (Lisa); 3 sisters-in-law; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pearlee’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
