HOPKINSVILLE, KY. (November 6, 2025) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision involving a deputy’s vehicle and pedestrian that occurred Wednesday night in Christian County.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Christian County Dispatch contacted KSP Post 2 requesting assistance with a collision near the 4500 block of Madisonville Road (U.S.-41) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
A preliminary investigation indicates a Christian County Deputy was operating a marked police cruiser when responding to a call for service. While traveling to the call the deputy struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway, according to a news release.
The Christian County Coroner pronounced the pedestrian, Brandon Higgins, 40, of Hopkinsville, dead on scene.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Jacob Stephens of the Kentucky State Police.
