HENDERSON, Ky. — The Henderson County Colonels opened their playoff campaign with an emphatic statement, dismantling the Meade County Green Waves in a commanding 42-7 Thursday night victory. The Colonels’ offense was firing on all cylinders, showcasing a balanced attack that proved too much for the Green Waves’ defense.
Dynamic Rushing Attack Paves Way
The Colonels dominated on the ground, accumulating 284 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns. The backfield saw contributions from multiple players:

- Jack Dalton was the leading rusher, tallying 78 yards on six carries, finding the end zone once.
- Kingston Shidler added 56 yards on six attempts.
- Brody Belt and Kieran Cole both chipped in with touchdowns, with Belt securing a score on 4 carries for 46 yards, and Cole punching one in on 7 carries for 47 yards.
- Jack Ryan Reusch also contributed two rushing touchdowns with 34 yards on 8 carries.
Efficient Passing Game Proves Effective
Quarterback Brody Belt led an efficient passing attack, completing 11 of 14 attempts for an impressive 170 yards and two touchdowns.


- Hezi Harris caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.
- Avant Baxter snagged 4 catches for 88 yards and the other touchdown.
- The Colonels secured a total of 454 yards of total offense (284 rushing, 170 passing).
Defensive Excellence Limits Green Wave
Henderson County’s defense was stout, holding Meade County to just 7 points and forcing two turnovers (Avant Baxter INT, Jack Logan INT). The Green Waves managed only 165 total yards of offense: 94 rushing and 71 passing. The Colonels’ defense excelled on third down, limiting Meade County to a mere 4-11 conversion rate. The Colonels also tallied 4 sacks on the night (Preston Gogel 1, Christian Haygan 1, Zarian Rideout 2).

Colonels Keep Playoff Push Alive
The victory was the Colonels first road playoff win since 2021 and their first playoff victory since 2023. Henderson County now awaits the winner of Friday night’s contest between Central Hardin and McCracken County. The second round playoff game would kickoff from a TBD location next Friday, November 14th at 7 pm.
