KSP investigating fatal multi-vehicle collision in Muhlenberg County


MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (December 8,2025)- Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Muhlenberg County.

Police said that two women were killed in the accident that occurred near the 15-mile marker of U.S. 431 at approximately 11:17 a.m. Friday.

A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle driven by Billy Wilson, 78, of Dunmor, Kentucky, was traveling north on U.S. 431, while a semi-truck and trailer driven by Robert Hosmer, 36, of South Bend, Indiana, was traveling southbound.

A third vehicle, driven by Morrine Cox, 68, of Greenville, Kentucky, reportedly failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Cleaton Road. Cox’s vehicle entered the path of both the northbound and southbound vehicles, causing a collision.

The Muhlenberg County Coroner pronounced Cox and her passenger Virginia Grimes, 64, of Mansfield, Texas, deceased at the scene.

Wilson and Hosmer received medical attention for their injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Detective Brian Graves of the Kentucky State Police.
