The Henderson County Colonels earned a solid 54-44 district road victory over Webster County Friday night, improving to 11-3 on the season.

Henderson set the tone early and led from start to finish, never allowing the capacity road crowd to factor into the game. The Colonels led 14-10 after the first quarter and carried a 27-20 advantage into halftime. Henderson stayed in control throughout the second half, leading 36-29 after three and closing out the win at the free-throw line and controlling the boards.

Henderson went 12-of-19 at the stripe and knocked down 4-of-13 shots from three-point range. Webster County finished 12-of-20 at the line and just 2-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Colonels also controlled the glass with a 33-25 rebounding edge and committed only eight turnovers, compared to 10 for the Trojans.

Xavion Johnson led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Travis Little added 10 points, while Amare Stewart chipped in eight points and four rebounds. Malachi Taylor finished with seven points and two rebounds, Zayden Martin posted six points and nine boards, and Mikey Woolfork contributed six points and three rebounds. Jarren Byrum rounded out the scoring with three.

Henderson returns to action Saturday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. against Graves County at McCracken County High School in Paducah.
