Bonnie Ruth Howard
Bonnie Ruth Howard, age 85, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Villas of Holly Brook Assisted Living in Mt. Carmel, IL.
Bonnie worked as secretary at Zion Baptist Church as well as the Child Advocacy Center in Henderson. She was strong in her faith and loved the Lord thoroughly. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro, KY. Trained in classical music, Bonnie was a majorette in the Bosse High School marching band. She was an excellent cook, loved her family and adored her grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Phyllis Lucille” by her late husband Glenn when they would cut up. They enjoyed traveling in their RV, airplane, and bicycles all over the nation. One of their favorite places to visit was Mossy Cove Fish Camp on Istokpoga Lake in Lorida, FL, where they spent many years with their extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband H. Glenn Howard, brother Donald Wurtz, two grandsons Phillip Jackson Howard II and Joshua Scott Howard, and nephew William “Billy” Paul Wurtz.
Bonnie is survived by her sons: Eric Glenn Howard and his wife Robin, P.J. Howard and his wife Tammy, Bruce Howard and his wife Ruth, Paul Howard, and Scott Howard; grandchildren: Jessica, Benjamin, April, Camryn, Natalie, H.B., Michael, Iman, Malic, Helen, Christopher, Haleigh, Abbie, Kayla, and Sarah; nephew Steve Wurtz; and many great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bonnie’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the memory care unit staff at the Villas of Holly Brook and to the residential hospice staff.

Gary Lee Decker
Gary Lee Decker, age 65, of Pride, KY, formerly of Smith Mills, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Gary was a 1979 graduate of Henderson County High School. He worked for Walts Trucking Company in Evansville, IN for several years. He was a member of the Morganfield Eagles Lodge where he served as trustee and a member of Kingdom Church in Spring Grove, KY. Gary was an avid motorcyclist and worshiped his grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Elvie and Sharon Decker and his sister Lori Jean Decker.
Gary is survived by his wife Barbara Alvey Decker of Pride, KY; daughter Melissa Haire of Henderson, KY; sons Jonathan Decker (Stephanie) of Henderson, KY and Travis Walker of Henderson, KY; brother Robert Keith Decker of Shawnee Town, IL; 4 grandchildren, and 1 nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gary’s Life Celebration from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Trent Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
