Weaver Drops Out of City of Henderson Mayor's Race

Cindy Weaver, left, has exited the Henderson Mayoral race.

Candidate Cindy Weaver has dropped out of the City of Henderson mayoral race.

In a social media post made Wednesday, Weaver said she has encountered several unexpected and deeply personal situations.

“As a result, I believe it is best for both myself, and the Henderson community that I withdraw from the mayoral race,” she wrote on Facebook. “Henderson deserves a leader who can dedicate themselves fully, and I am unable to do so at this time. Life’s uncertainties often shape our decisions in ways we cannot predict. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.”

Weaver filed to run for the mayor’s seat on January 8.

With her dropping out of the nonpartisan race, current Mayor Brad Staton will be unopposed as he runs for a second term. Staton also ran unopposed in the last mayoral race in 2022.
