Henderson County voters turned out to cast their ballots in the 2026 Kentucky Primary Election on Tuesday.
A few of the countywide offices were decided Tuesday night, since the Democratic Party did not field a primary in those races. That includes the race for jailer, coroner, and the Magistrate District Two seat.
Here are the results from all votes tallied, including early and absentee votes. Winners are in bold.
In the Democratic Primary for Henderson County Judge-Executive, here’s a breakdown of the votes cast:
- L. “Les” Jenkins-Mackey: 1,965
- Lisa Thompson Meyer: 1,583
In the Republican Primary for Henderson County Judge-Executive, here’s how the votes were tallied:
- Timmy Dunn: 1,465
- Randall Green: 219
- Brad Schneider: 1,418
Jenkins-Mackey and Dunn will square off against each other in the November General Election.
Three out of the Five County-Judge Executive Seats held competitive Republican Primaries.
In the Magistrate District One Republican Primary, here’s how people voted:
- Keith Berry: 367
- J.R. Stanley: 457
Stanley will now face Democrat Jon Drew Douglas in the November General Election.
In the Magistrate District Two Republican Primary, here’s how many votes were tallied:
- James Franks: 649
- Taylor Tompkins: 340
Since no Democrats filed for this seat, Franks is the winner outright for the Magistrate District Two seat.
In the Magistrate District Four Republican Primary Race, here’s a breakdown of the votes cast:
- Kevin Morgan: 163
- Jay Randolph: 90
Morgan will face Democratic Incumbent Billy “Butch” Puttman in the November General Election.
Here’s the voting breakdown for the Henderson County Jailer Republican Primary:
- Eddie Vaught: 1,004
- Anthony Willett: 1,977
Since no other candidates filed for the office, Willett will be the next Henderson County Jailer. He will succeed Bruce Todd, who opted not to run for re-election.
Here’s the voting breakdown for the Henderson County Coroner Republican Primary:
- Sheila Patterson: 1,394
- Dewayne Reneer: 1,616
Since no other candidates filed to run, Reneer won the seat outright.
In alphabetical order, here are how the candidates fared in the nonpartisan City of Henderson Commission race.
- Cooper Beck: 979
- Adam Blythe: 835
- Isaac Church: 1,189
- Kelsey Hargis: 2,170
- Tre Michael Perkins: 949
- Robert N Pruitt: 1,726
- Kristie Randolph: 959
- Chris Thomas: 1,425
- Nicholas “Nick” Whitt: 1,875
- Tom Williams: 1,174
The top eight finishers advance to the November General Election. The top four vote-getters in the November General Election will secure at-large seats on the Henderson City Commission.
The two candidates not advancing to the November General Election are Adam Blythe and Tre Michael Perkins.
There were also some statewide races on the ballot.
Here’s the breakdown of how people voted in the U.S. Representative Republican Primary Race:
- Penny Arcos: 107
- James Comer: 2,640
- David Sims: 169
- Robert James Sutherby: 114
Comer, who won the most votes in his representative district, will face Democrat John “Drew” Willams in the November General Election.
In the U.S. Senate Democratic Primary Race, here’s how the votes were cast:
- Joshua Blanton Sr.: 129
- Charles Booker: 1,265 (state total winner)
- Logan Forsythe: 120
- Amy McGrath: 1,812
- Dale Lewis Romans: 95
- Pamela Stevenson: 165
- Vincent Anthony Thompson: 112
In the U.S. Senate Republican Primary Race, here’s how votes were cast:
- Andy Barr: 1,799
- Daniel Cameron: 898
- Anissa Catlett: 31
- James D. Duncan: 43
- Michael James Faris: 59
- Valerie “Dr. Val” Fredrick: 40
- Jonathan M. Holliday: 25
- Jimmy Leon: 4
- A. Nick Shelley: 15
- George Washington: 51
- Other Donald Wenzel: 8
Barr also won the most votes across the state and will face Booker in the November General Election. The winner will succeed retiring longtime Senator Mitch McConnell.
