Henderson County Schools has hired Amy Morris as the district’s new Director of Finance.
Morris brings more than two decades of accounting and public finance experience, most recently serving as Director of Finance for Union County Public Schools.
“It is a privilege to step into the role of Director of Finance for Henderson County Schools,” said Morris. “I am thrilled to bring my passion for financial leadership to such a dedicated district. I look forward to working collaboratively with leadership and the community to maximize our impact and support educational excellence.”
During her tenure in Union County, Morris has provided district-wide leadership in budgeting, financial reporting, and grant compliance. She has overseen the planning, organization, and control of all financial operations, including general and federal fund budgeting, procurement, payroll, internal controls, fixed asset management, and audit coordination. Her work has supported strong fiscal accountability and ensured compliance with state and federal requirements while aligning resources to support student needs.
Morris is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified School Financial Manager. Before her work in school finance, she served in roles including hospital budget management, corporate accounting supervision, and senior accounting and auditing positions in public accounting firms.
She holds a Master of Science in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Murray State University.
