HMP&L is continuing its reconductoring project work during the week of June 15th.
Officials said work will continue to focus on portions of Phase 2 of the project, which runs from the South Green Street/Sand Lane intersection heading east on Sand Lane to Madison Street.
Motorists may encounter work zone traffic measures in place, with one lane traffic on that route from time to time.
Work the week of June 15th will be limited to Monday, June 15, Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18 as poles and power lines continue to be replaced.
HMP&L and its subcontractor – 5 Star Electric – are undertaking a reconductoring project that includes the removal and replacement of a number of power poles. These are being replaced to accommodate larger conductor size and updating load requirements.
The project also includes the removal of existing transmission lines and replacing them with upgraded transmission lines to increase capacity and improve system performance.
