An Evansville man was arrested following a road rage incident where a firearm was reportedly brandished.
Evansville Dispatch issued a Be on the Lookout for a vehicle involved in a road rage incident in which a firearm was reportedly brandished at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 2100 block of West Buena Vista Road to investigate a harassment report related to the incident.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a traffic dispute involving lane changes and one vehicle allegedly cutting off another escalated on Diamond Avenue near St. Joseph Avenue. During the confrontation, the suspect pointed a handgun at the occupants of the other vehicle.
The victims were able to provide deputies with the suspect vehicle’s license plate information. Deputies located the suspect and the vehicle at his residence a short time later.
The suspect, Kevin Isreal Sosa, 26, of Evansville, denied having a firearm. However, deputies observed what appeared to be a handgun inside the vehicle. Deputies subsequently obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and recovered the firearm.
Sosa was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges: Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon and Pointing a Firearm.
