Bruce Todd has officially retired from his position as Henderson County Jailer as of Tuesday.

He was elected to the position in November 2022.

Todd had previously served three terms as the District 2 Magistrate on the Henderson Fiscal Court. While he was a magistrate, he was elected to the board of directors of the Kentucky Association of Counties and eventually became the organization’s president.

The Henderson County Judge Executive’s declared June 30th as Bruce Todd Day in recognition for his two decades of public service. He was recognized during a reception held in his honor on Tuesday.

Todd is retiring from his jailer position at the end of the fiscal year instead of the calendar year. His successor, Anthony Willett, is due to be sworn in at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the court chambers.

Willett was the winner of the May Republican Primary. Since there were no Democrats to file, Willett won the seat during the Primary.

Todd announced his intentions to retire at a recent Fiscal Court meeting, citing he wanted to spend more time with family.
