Thank you for your commitment to the Chamber and for your patience as we sift through the multitude of information and work to get the correct information to you in a timely manner.
As you know, the crisis we are facing presents many challenges in our nation and it is important that we continue to support each other and our community. Since last week, we have been gathering information from state, local and national resources. I appreciate all the information that has been shared and want to let you know where we are as a Chamber.
Your Chamber Executive Board met this morning and we have assimilated information from The KY State Chamber, the US Chamber, the US Small Business Administration (SBA), MSU, GRADD and more. Our plan of action moving forward is to continue to be a resource for you and the community, to provide information – up to date, concise and easy to navigate information – on our website and through email and social media.
Here is how we plan to do that:
We are working to introduce pressing questions and answers to businesses through a webinar platform on a daily basis.
A SURVEY was sent to you yesterday. If you did not receive it, please let us know. We want your input. We are creating a handbook for businesses to help navigate the system for your specific need. This should be complete by mid-week.
We will be sending information about a webinar with Josh Benton with the Ky Workforce Cabinet on Unemployment Insurance. This is a partnership with the Owensboro Chamber. We will share more details, but we anticipate this occurring on Wednesday.
As you know, the information is ever evolving. We will continue to update you utilizing social media, email and our website and will do so more frequently. We are also working on a plan for when social distancing will not be as stringent, to provide mentorships for small businesses and mini seminars to assist with long-term issues. If you are interested in being a mentor or would like a mentor. Please email me.
Additionally, we have volunteers in the community that are willing to share their talent with others. Please feel free to pass on my contact information with anyone you think would be interested in helping with this initiative.
In the meantime, take care of yourself, stay healthy and contact me if you have questions.
Continue to visit our website for resources.
