HENDERSON, Ky. (July 24, 2026) – Kentucky State Trooper Corey King is retiring after more than 26 years of service.
King has served as the public information officer for KSP Post 16 Henderson for the past 17 years. He will officially retire as of July 31st.
“When I first joined KSP, I could never have imagined the journey ahead of me. Since stepping into the role of Public Affairs Officer in 2009, I have had the unique privilege of serving as the bridge between our agency and the communities we protect,” King said. “It has been a demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding chapter of my career.”
Trooper Mike Wathen will be taking over media relations for KSP Post 16.
“He brings experience and dedication to the role, and I know you will extend to him the same courtesy and collaboration you have always shown me,” King told media partners.
