A serious crash that left a motorcyclist injured in Evansville on Tuesday night also led to a DUI arrest.
Evansville Police officers were called to the intersection of North First Avenue and Uhlhorn Street at just before 8:20 p.m. Tuesday for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Multiple 911 calls were received reporting a serious injury crash between a black SUV and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider reportedly had a severe injury to their leg. Emergency personnel arrived and the injured motorcycle rider was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the SUV, Justin M. Walker, 38, showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking before the crash.
Walker submitted to standard field sobriety testing and portable breath testing which both indicated he was under the influence.
Walker was preliminarily charged with operating while intoxicated-serious bodily injury, operating a vehicle while intoxicated-endangerment and operating without ever obtaining license.
