Mary Benita Felty Jones, 93, Henderson, died Sunday, August 16, 2026.

She was born Dec. 3, 1932, to Woodrow and Mary Myrtle LaRue. She attended Audubon Baptist Church for many years, Victory Baptist Church, and was a member of Tilden General Baptist Church. Benita loved cooking for her family. You could find her in the kitchen mixing up something good to eat if you dropped by her house. She was always ready to give her granddaughters a lesson in making her famous Christmas fudge. Benita enjoyed needle arts and was talented at crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She loved to laugh and joke with her friends, and listening to music. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her neighbors and camping with her family. Benita loved living and working on her farm in Tilden for the past 15 years. More than anything she loved her great grandchildren to come visit with her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carlos Felty; daughter, Carla Felty Robbins; sisters, Annie Townsend and Patsy LaRue; and brothers, Clarence LaRue and Ronnie LaRue.
